Project: 'Remembering the Wars: the community meanings of Western
Australian War Memorials'Curtin University of Technology is looking for
a suitably qualified and experienced person to provide research and
archival assistance for an Australian Research Council Linkage Grant
funded project.

The project is a partnership between Curtin University and the Returned
and Services League (RSL) WA Branch. The aim of the project is
investigate the history of meanings around war memorials in Western
Australia and the relationship between their material characteristics
and commemorative practices.

Assistance is required in researching a number of case studies, as well
as data organisation. 

Duties

1.                  Undertake archival research as directed at the State
Records Office and the JS Battye Library of West Australian History.

2.                  Provide assistance with data organisation and
archival storage of research materials.

3.                  Data entry of research materials into EndNote
program.

4.                  Date entry into an Access database ('WA War
Memorials Database')

5.                  Other assistance as required. This may include
helping to organise oral history interviews and/or focus groups.

Period of contract

Curtin University is able to offer a fixed term casual contract for
either 6 months full time or the equivalent part time (2-3 days/week)
for a period of up to 12 months.
