Scholarships available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
to train as archivists and records managers
The Indigenous Issues Special Interest Group (IISIG) of the Australian
Society of Archivists ASA) is delighted to announce that two ASA Loris
Williams Scholarships are available in 2008 for Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander people who wish to train for careers in archives and
records management. Each scholarship will provide up to $3000 which can
be used to pay fees, books and computing costs. Students may be studying
at university from bachelor's level up to PhD or in a Vocational
Education and Training institutions from Certificate III onwards.
The brochure Pathways to your future and out past - careers for
Indigenous peoples in archives and records explains why it is important
to train more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in this
