Subject: [Aus-archivists] RE: New ASA publications Archives Matter!
andDescribing Records in Context
Hi everyone
Archives Matter! a glossy new publication was recently launched in Alice
Springs at the ASA conference. Also supported and funded by CAARA
(Council of Australasian Archives and Records Authorities), this booklet
seeks to promote the role of archives and archivists in society. Maggie
Shapley was the project coordinator with a small working party based
around Australia.
All ASA members will receive a copy with the October Bulletin and for
those who would like an early look, it is also available as a PDF
download from the ASA website.
Also launched in Alice Springs was Describing Records in Context
prepared by the ASA's Descriptive Standards Committee led by Adrian
Cunningham. More information on this publication together with an order
form is included on the What's New section of the ASA website.
Visit www.archivists.org.au to learn more about these exciting new
publications.
Thanks
Shauna Hicks
Managing Editor, ASA
