Informatics Internship with potential for Career Progression
Corporate Venturing Pty Ltd seeks applications from suitably skilled and
motivated postgraduate students interested in building a career in
bibliometric analysis, market research and information for innovation.
The initial opportunity is a salaried internship with Corporate
Venturing. It is envisaged that should an effective working relationship
develop, the internship will convert to an ongoing position within 12
months.
The successful applicant will receive training from a highly experienced
innovation leadership team. To underpin the role, the intern will have
access to sophisticated databases and bibliometric analysis software
sourced from the world's most prominent information companies.
The role will include supporting the Corporate Venturing leadership team
with the conduct of analytics on large data sets, the synthesis of
reports on markets and emerging technologies and the development of
visualisations to promote a ready understanding by top corporate
management. This work will provide a profound influence on major
investment decisions by some of the world's most prominent corporations.
Initially the work will involve clients innovating in the energy, water,
nanotechnology, minerals processing, mining and aquaculture sectors.
Corporate Venturing assists clients to unlock and realise major new
growth opportunities through corporate innovation. Our clients value our
perspectives on innovation and the design and implementation of
innovation systems. Our work integrates venture capital thinking into
the systems we design and the new businesses we develop. Fundamental to
our approach is the desire to foster world class outcomes. This often
means there is a need to provide information from the world's most
sophisticated markets to influence management judgement in Australia.
As a core part of our client engagement process we provide hands on
assistance to grow innovative new ventures. The design (and redesign) of
new businesses to meet the exacting requirements for rapid market
acceptance and growth is a key element of the sustainable corporate
innovation capability that we help our clients create.
The successful applicant will be a team player with sound communication
skills and an entrepreneurial disposition. Comfort in working with
cutting edge science and engineering technologies will be required.
Flexibility in working style and the ability to span boundaries between
technological and business issues will be highly regarded.
