Curtin University Library is seeking expressions of interest in a Graduate Librarian position.

 

We are looking for either a Librarian who has graduated in the past twelve months or a student who will complete their undergraduate degree or postgraduate course in Library and Information Studies at the end of semester one, 2007.

 

We can offer you:

*	A salary of $46,232 (pro rata)

 

*	A part-time (.6) contract position for semester two, 2007

 

*	Mentoring from experienced librarians

 

*	An opportunity to work at a professional level in an innovative university library

 

*	A structured professional development program

 

We are looking for someone who meets the following section criteria:

Essential:

*	Completed a degree or graduate diploma in Library and information Studies in the past twelve months or expecting to complete a degree or graduate diploma in Library and Information Studies at the end of semester one, 2007

 

*	Knowledge of a range of scholarly information resources

 

*	Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a range of diverse groups and individuals

 

*	Ability to work as a member of a team

 

*	Demonstrated time management skills

 

*	Demonstrated flexible and innovative approach to problem solving

 

*	Knowledge of automated library systems and desktop computer applications

 

Desirable:

*	A teaching qualification or training experience
