[Hum-DIS] Is WebCT still causing problems?

Dear all

Well, the short answer is: I don't think so. However I have received
one or two emails recently which lead me to believe that maybe some of
you are still having a few problems. Here is a response I received
recently from one of our "techies" on some possible remedies. If none
of these work then I suggest you contact the WebCT team and talk/email
them your issues and see if they can help. They seem to think the issue
is internal though I've since advised them that students external to
Curtin are also involved:

It looks like something in the set up of Internet Explorer (IE) in the
Humanities area. They pinpointed it to the "security" setup in IE. You
need to install the latest version of IE then things will sort
themselves out with the new version.

Now with students...I've been onto the lab about it and they said they
will look into it. They are running the latest version of IE in the
labs, but I've got a feeling it still is not working in there. Their
solution at the moment is to let students know if they are going to be
using the chat rooms it would be best for them to use Firefox as their
browser, since there are no problems with Firefox and WebCT.

If you could let your students know about using Firefox, the lab guys
are going to let me know what they discover about it once they've tested
it.

GOOD LUCK

Kerry
