Subject: Poll for upcoming EJIG talk 'Climate activism and political imagination towards climate justice'

Overview: 'Climate activism and political imagination towards climate justice'
Achieving climate justice requires that those most affected by the effects of climate change are included and represented in the decisions that affect them. In this talk, I will focus on how groups and communities who have been excluded from political decision-making processes reclaim political agency and engage with climate change-related issues. I will look at engagement with climate change from a broader perspective, drawing on empirical data collected with young people (including climate activists and racially minoritised youth), a local rural community and the Portuguese climate movement. I will finally discuss how these contexts of participation may potentially develop radical and transformative political imaginaries, and what visions of social justice and collective agency/power are being constructed within these spaces/communities.
