Achieving climate justice requires that those most affected by the effects of climate change are included and represented in the decisions that affect them. In this talk, I will focus on how groups and communities who have been excluded from political decision-making
processes reclaim political agency and engage with climate change-related issues. I will look at engagement with climate change from a broader perspective, drawing on empirical data collected with young people (including climate activists and racially minoritised
youth), a local rural community and the Portuguese climate movement. I will finally discuss how these contexts of participation may potentially develop radical and transformative political imaginaries, and what visions of social justice and collective agency/power
are being constructed within these spaces/communities. <br>
