There's not much actual Community Psychology in this Mental Health Summit but the concept of 'pay what you can (or choose to)' for 20 hours of online CPD lectures that raise funds for integrated therapy programs for children who have been experienced abuse and neglect is intriguing...

Dear Professor Sharples,

I’m contacting you regarding the 2016 Mental Health Super Summit, an online mental health conference organised by Mental Health Academy (www.mentalhealthacademy.com.au<http://www.mentalhealthacademy.com.au>) and co-hosted with Act for Kids (www.actforkids.com.au<http://www.actforkids.com.au>).

The Summit is a very unique event. Participants decide how much they want to pay to attend (starting at only $50 – which makes it very accessible to professionals and students alike), and all proceeds are donated to charity. Last year nearly 2,500 mental health professionals attended the 2015 Summit – with a total of $88,530 being donated to Act for Kids, and applied to integrative therapy to support over 50 children who experienced abuse and neglect to rebuild their lives. This year we’re expecting over 3,000 attendees and in excess of $150,000 raised for charity.

The event’s line-up includes speakers from Harvard Medical School, University of Oxford, Pennsylvania State University, University of Michigan, Thomas Jefferson University, Flinders University, University of Melbourne, Monash, UQ, Bond, Black Dog Institute, and many more leading institutions. Some of the speakers are also APS members.

You can learn more here: www.mentalhealthacademy.com.au/summit<http://www.mentalhealthacademy.com.au/summit>

As the Chair of the APS College of Community Psychologists, I was hoping you could help us spread the word about the event. This could be done by emailing information about the Summit to College members and extended professional networks; and posting information on relevant forums.

Any support would be much appreciated, and would help us get closer to our goal of raising $150,000 for a very worthwhile cause. Please do not hesitate to contact me via reply to this email (we can also supply email content and marketing materials upon request).

Kind regards,

Pedro.

Ps Every single cent MHA collects from Summit registrations and sponsorships is donated to Act for Kids. Mental Health Academy is fully covering all the costs for preparing, managing, promoting and delivering the 2016 Mental Health Super Summit.
