The APS Child, Adolescent & Family and Women & Psychology Interest Groups invite you to a Conference Gathering coming up in less than 3 weeks time on the Mornington Peninsula.

The aim of this very special gathering is to share information about research and practice issues and initiatives related to sex, gender and the future of relationships, with one of the highlights being a presentation by Jo Hirst, author of The Gender Fairy http://www.thegenderfairy.com/, an educational resource 'for all children and adults to understand what it might feel like to be a transgender child'..

Other presentations include:

  *   Post Feminism, young women and the negotiation of normative femininities
  *   Hijacking Sex and sexuality- Psychological and public concerns about the harmful impacts of pornography and the sexualisation of women and girls
  *   Canvassing the emotions: women, creativity and mental health- taking research onto the streets (Elaine Dignan Award 2015)
  *   Advertising, the media and violence against women - by Carmel O'Brien, the author of Blame Changer: Understanding Domestic Violence
  *   IMatter, youMatter, wematter
  *   Mental Health and Well-Being- Whose job is it anyway? (Mental health issues in schools and what they need to do to support students)
