[Commpsych] Psychology Week film night - Mary Meets Mohammad - Fri 13 Nov Nth Fitzroy

As you may be aware (or not!) 8-14 November is Psychology Week 2015!

On Friday 13 November, the Victorian Section of the APS College of Community Psychologists is hosting a showing of the award-winning documentary film ‘Mary meets Mohammad’ http://marymeetsmohammad.com/wp/ at the Long Play Cinema and Bar in North Fitzroy (details attached). Directed by Heather Kirkpatrick, the film follows the arrival of Tasmania’s first detention centre through the eyes of local Christian woman and knitting club member Mary and Muslim Afghan Hazara asylum seeker Mohammad, who is detained inside the centre – as they connect through the gift of a knitted beanie.

Entry is $15 and includes a light supper - drinks at bar prices.
Proceeds will go to the Refugee Council of Australia.
