This is a good news story worth sharing :)

Of the ten most popular research publications for 2014 from the Australian Policy Online Website, Working Together: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mental Health and Wellbeing Principles and Practice 2014. came in at:

No. 1 – in the Indigenous Health section http://apo.org.au/top-content/2014-most-viewed-indigenous &

No. 2 – in the Health and Wellbeing section http://apo.org.au/top-content/2014-most-viewed-health-wellbeing

Intended for staff, students and health practitioners, this book offers a comprehensive examination of issues and strategies influencing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and social and emotional wellbeing.

This book is available free online and in print (with postage costs). A number of community psychologists and VU staffers contributed, and up to 10 Indigenous psychologists were among the overall majority of the chapter authors who are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Interestingly, as I recall, authorship of a chapter in this book didn't qualify as a research publication because it wasn't attached to a publishing house :( Yet as this article points out http://apo.org.au/research/where-evidence-realising-value-grey-literature-public-policy-and-practice, increasingly the 'grey literature' "(i.e. material produced and published by organisations without recourse to the commercial or scholarly publishing industry) is a key part of the evidence produced and used for public policy and practice".
