Vulnerable Communities and
Climate Change Workshops
Perth – Melbourne

Dear ACOSS friend,

We know that climate change poses serious and perennial risks to all facets of society.

We also know that climate change disproportionately impacts people experiencing poverty and inequality.

But ….

  *   Which communities are particularly vulnerable and why?
  *   What role should community sector organisations play in climate policy?
  *   How do we apply a climate policy lens to our existing policy areas?

To explore these questions and more, we have partnered with National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility (NCCARF) to bring you a fast paced, interactive, half day workshop on Vulnerable Communities and Climate Change.

This half day workshop will unpack the policy implications for the people most affected by extreme weather events and the organisations that support them; and what the community sector can do to address them.

We’re also excited to be introducing workshop participants to a suite of new tools and resources developed by ACOSS to help you lead change in your organisation and achieve organisational resilience to extreme weather events.

For those wanting to better incorporate climate policy and organisational preparedness in their existing policy and practice, this workshop is not to be missed!
