Dear colleagues,

This site, below, has recently been circulating phishing correspondence to academics and research students. It is sophisticated but a scam nevertheless. Suspect details are the fact that their long list of journals are all volume 2 or less; the organisational street address in New York City doesn’t exist and the telephone area code and address don’t match up (I noticed this as a New Yorker but double-checked anyway); their emails are listed variously as .yahoo.com<http://yahoo.com>, .gmail.com<http://gmail.com> and .org for personnel in the same organisation; and editorial boards don't match the academic expertise of journal editors listed, nor do these academics list their editorial affiliation on their own websites. Finally, the lead time between submission and publication - for a claimed double-blind reviewing process! - is only 1 month, a real give-away. They went to a lot of trouble to make this look authentic - but it isn't.

Please beware, and if appropriate let your postgraduate research students know to avoid getting entangled in this particular enterprise when they are seeking to publish from their research projects. ITS at VU have now blocked this site after direction from the Graduate Research Centre and VU Library. Please see below for further information.

Founded in June 2011, the American Research Institute for Policy Development<http://www.aripd.org/> serves as a focal point for academicians, professionals, graduate and undergraduate students, fellows, and associates pursuing research throughout the world.

The INSTITUTE publishes the research papers through a number of international journals (all the journals are published in print and online). These journals are led by the world’s reputed professors. The quick and double blind review process, rich editorial board, zero tolerance for plagiarism and high respect for publication ethics, a strong commitment for scheduled publication are the key features of the Institute’s journals.

The INSTITUTE calls for research papers, review papers, conceptual framework, analytical and simulation models, case studies, empirical research, technical notes, and book reviews for the coming issue of the journals. (The list of the journal is attached at the end of the letter).

The interested contributors are highly encouraged to submit their manuscripts/papers to the executive editor as attachment at editor at aripd.org<mailto:editor at aripd.org>. As the INSTITUTE follows the central submission policy (same submission e-mail for every journal), the contributors/authors are requested to indicate the name of the journal in the cover letter in which they are interested to publish. If a contributor is not sure about the suitability of her/his paper for a specific journal, she/he should send the paper to the executive editor at editor at aripd.org<mailto:editor at aripd.org> , the executive editor will decide the journal for her/his paper.
