Plenty Valley Community Health (PVCH) is a Primary Health Service that provides a range of primary health, dental, disability, population health and social support services to the growing communities of the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne.



The Position

Our Child, Family Youth team has a key focus on providing high quality services to support children to have the best start in life. The family counselling service is part of this multidisciplinary team, which includes Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Neuropsychology, Dietetics and Physiotherapy. We are seeking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Family Counsellor to join our Child, Family & Youth Team.  Reporting to a supportive Team Leader, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a range of parent support initiatives that will strengthen families to meet the needs of their children’s developmental issues and manage their children’s behaviour. The successful applicant will have the rare opportunity to work with clinicians from other disciplines to contribute towards the common goal of improving the health and wellbeing of children in the community. The position will be based at our new Epping site with great views and car parking.



Key Selection Criteria

Applicants must have a Bachelor of Psychology or a Bachelor of Social work combined with experience In working with families of children aged 0 -12 years in both individual and group settings. Your excellent understanding and demonstrated experience of family centred practice with ability to apply it to parenting intervention, will be highly valuable for this position.
