Hi all,

This is an informal call for papers for the 39th annual conference of the Society of Australasian Social Psychologists (SASP), which is being held in Melbourne this year in April (16-19). The SASP conferences usually attract around 150-180 delegates from Australia and New Zealand who present research on diverse topics that come under the broad umbrella of social psychology and applied social psychology (including social cognition, relationships, group processes, family processes, political psych, evolutionary social psych, etc etc.).

Even if you don't consider yourself a "social psychologist" per se, if you do research in areas that can be considered vaguely social in some way (whether it be interpersonal, family, community, or just with broad social relevance), then I encourage you to submit an abstract for a paper presentation. It would be terrific to see researchers from VU get involved and show their work to a new audience.

This goes for postgrad students too. SASP is a very friendly and inclusive group, and the SASP conference is a great place for first-timers (accordingly, there is usually a very strong postgrad presence there). So if you have a postgrad research student who has some data they can present, please encourage them to think about submitting an abstract.

The deadline for paper submissions is Friday 27th February. For more information about the conference and online submissions, go to www.capitalit.net.au/sasp

Also feel free to ask me about it - I'm kind of on the organising committee this year, and I've presented at a couple of previous SASP conferences myself.

Hope to see some of you there!!

Cheers,
Warwick
