Hi All
There has been considerable discussion on the SCRA list about
interrogations, as well as within the APA. The message from Brad Olson,
and especially the link that he has in his email are very instructive
about psychology, ethics and anything else we may imagine

Subject: [SCRA-L] BSCT Psychologists and Interrogations
In this interrogation debate within psychology, the question often comes
up, what exactly are the Behavioral Science Consultant Team (BSCT)
psychologists doing in these military detention settings?
The following recent article probably gives the best description, or at
least it illustrates the one concrete example we have coming out of
these detention settings from an official interrogation log. This
particular instance of an APA psychologist and his actions happened some
years ago. It is very difficult of course to know exactly what has
changed in these roles (for the better or worse) since that period. One
thing that has changed is that the author here mentions "psychiatrists"
and actions of "physicians." In the present day, due to APA policies and
in contrast AMA (and American Psychiatric Association) policies, the DOD
has decided to only use psychologists in these roles.
