The Facilitator:	Bob Dick, University of Queensland

Bob is well known for his consultancy and facilitation work in community
and organisational change, and for his theoretical and practical
contributions to the action research and facilitation communities.
Following his highly successful, sellout workshop for us in 2006, Bob is
returning to Melbourne to lead a second workshop for those who missed
out last time.

In this two-day interactive workshop:

As you learn about effective facilitation you will see it modelled by
Bob and will have a chance to practise it in small groups. You will be
able to learn the concepts and theory that will help you understand the
skills and processes you are learning. There will be a mix of content
and activity, with theory/practice integration. In this participative
workshop you will be able to influence the content and the approach.

Possible content

Workshop content will be negotiated with participants, though it is
likely to include:
*	process observation and diagnosis
*	unstructured process facilitation
*	the design and facilitation of structured processes.

The types of facilitation that can be addressed may include:
*	facilitation for learning, especially experiential learning
*	facilitation for problem-solving and decision-making
*	improving meetings where the participant is a group member
rather than an official facilitator
*	facilitation for change (small group and large group)

Bob's workshops have proved extremely popular all around Australia, and
are booked well ahead. So this is a unique opportunity for APS
Community College members, postgraduate students and others to jump the
queue at special rates.
