[MCASIlaris] Curtin Library Internship for LARIS students in WA and a part-time position at the Library

The Curtin Library Internship was especially created for LARIS students. It is in its second year and our first Internship student had an excellent experience. The Internship is a great way to gain experience in an academic library and be paid while doing it. Please see the overview below and the attached - and consider applying if you are eligible.
The application is due by 6 pm on Tuesday, 24 June.

We are pleased to invite interested Libraries, Archives, Records and Information Science (LARIS) students to apply for the second year of the Curtin Library Internship program. This internship is a result of a partnership between the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), Curtin University's Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM) and Curtin University Library. Led and hosted by the Library, the internship provides an opportunity for motivated students to gain valuable professional experiences in research librarianship. The full value of the internship is $15,000, paid as non-taxable scholarship.

 Successful completion of the internship will require approximately 220 hours of work experience and project work to be completed between mid-June and before December 24th, 2025. This may provide sufficient experience for an equivalency application for your course's placement or internship requirement.

As a Librarian in our Client Engagement team, you'll be the heart of the library experience you will:



  *   Deliver high-quality, responsive support to clients and stakeholders
  *   Develop and manage the Library's physical collections, ensuring accessibility and preservation
  *   Refine and improve procedures for better efficiency and service delivery
  *   Provide training to staff and clients, enhancing their library experience



This contract position is for a Librarian role part-time (0.5FTE), 12-month fixed-term.  Applications close: Wednesday 25 June 2025
