Dear colleagues,

Join Professor Bridget Griffen-Foley for an engaging exploration of the Australian Broadcasting Commission's unique history in Western Australia.

Discover how the state's time difference from the east coast shaped local content, innovative programming and memorable broadcasts with a focus on radio and television from the 1930s to the 1980s.

The talk will spotlight local broadcasting identities including Basil Kirke and Catherine King, along with popular programs such as Kindergarten of the Air and This Day Tonight.

Don't miss your chance to learn about the communities these shows created and the responses they elicited from Western Australian audiences.

Bridget Griffen-Foley is a Professor of Media at Macquarie University and leading an Australian Research Council project on 'The ABC, its Archives and its Audiences'.
