The Role
As an APS 6 Librarian, you will be responsible for the management and delivery of high-quality library services and resources to meet the evolving needs of the organisation. This role involves strategic planning, staff leadership, service delivery, and enhancing the user experience. It also involves library resource acquisition and management, ensuring compliance with governance and budgetary frameworks.
Your key focus will be acquisition and management of Defence Library Service electronic resources. This includes overseeing the electronic resources budget, negotiating licences, conducting product investigation and analysis and ensuring effective integration of resources in accordance with Departmental requirements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to optimise library services, ensure the highest quality electronic content, and maximise user satisfaction.
You will work as part of a small team while maintaining reasonable autonomy and independently managing your responsibilities to achieve deliverables. You will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
