Curtin University is seeking a detail-oriented applicant to support research data management within the DataHarvest project. If successful, you will have an opportunity to grow your skills in a diverse team through support and training, connect with researchers and industry and enable innovation in a new area.

Curtin University has partnered with the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) to form the DataHarvest Initiative, delivered through the Centre for Crop Disease Management (CCDM). This exciting new team is set to build expertise to advance the management of data derived from development and extension (RD&E) projects on behalf of GRDC. DataHarvest will achieve its goal by upskilling GRDC research partners Australia-wide to ensure they can expertly collect, manage and appropriately share grains RD&E data.

  *   G06 $89,919 - $95,391 + 17% superannuation
  *   Full time, fixed term contract to January 2027

In this role, you will:

  *   Maintain a metadata catalogue, quality check incoming metadata entries and data management plans for compliance with existing guidelines.
  *   Provide support and advice to researchers in agriculture, including best practices in research data management.
  *   Support the development and maintenance of online data management resources, including online self-help and training resources/videos.
  *   Share developments in agricultural RD&E data support with other organisations through training workshops and other avenues.

We are looking for (the ideal candidate):

  *   Completion of a relevant degree (e.g. Library and information science, information management, Agriculture/Science related degree) with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
  *   Demonstrated information management skills, including an understanding of the application of new and emerging technologies relevant to research data management.
  *   Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality, client/customer-focused services.
  *   Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group.
  *   Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well within a team.
  *   Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to work flexibly and independently with limited direction.
  *   Knowledge of agricultural industry (desirable).

As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
