I am excited to invite students from your university to participate in the Ultimate Hackathon Challenge, presented by RIMPA Global and sponsored by the National Archives of Australia. This event offers a fantastic opportunity for all students in Information Management (IM), ICT, Business, Engineering, and related fields to engage with the latest trends, network with industry experts, enhance their practical skills, and gain valuable recognition.

Participating in this hackathon will allow students to work on real-world challenges, developing solutions that can make a significant impact. They will have the chance to connect with professionals and experts, offering opportunities for mentorship and collaboration. By tackling complex problems, students will refine their problem-solving abilities and gain hands-on experience, showcasing their innovative solutions and gaining visibility within the industry, potentially leading to career opportunities.

In addition, students will experience personal growth by developing resilience, adaptability, and critical thinking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. They will also enjoy the thrill of competition, working in teams, fostering camaraderie, and competing for a substantial prize.

The hackathon is aimed at students and emerging practitioners to solve a problem that has haunted the IM industry for some time:

How can information managers value information so that it is recognised as a strategic asset?

  *   How to determine what information is worth to any organisation

  *   What formula or methodology can be used to measure the value of information assets

  *   Whether information can have both qualitative and quantitative value

  *   How information assets can be included on an organisation's balance sheet

  *   Whether methods of valuing other corporate assets can be applied to information
