Join us in Ōtautahi | Christchurch from 22-25 October 2024 to share your experiences and strategies for opening the archives through access, engagement or other innovative avenues.

The Conference aims to bring together a wide range of views on what ‘opening’ the archives means; how this has been, or might be, achieved, and when it should not. It is also a space to explore the challenges and opportunities posed by new technologies, increased accessibility, and the acknowledgement of historical and cultural sensibilities.

What type of roles are available for volunteers*?

On-Site Volunteers (x9)

  *   Assisting with general conference tasks
  *   Providing support for on-site enquiries
  *   Helping speakers and chairpersons to prepare and monitor sessions
  *   Supporting registration of delegates on their arrival
  *   Assisting at social events - logistics, checking entry, etc
  *   Point of contact for local specific enquiries

Online Volunteers (x3)

  *   Providing support to virtual speakers
  *   Providing support to virtual attendees
  *   Assisting with networking and social media

What are the benefits of becoming a Conference volunteer?

  *   Free entry into the ASA/ARANZ & PARBICA conference for those that commit to 1.5+ days of volunteer work.**
  *   A chance to learn from and network with a wide variety of GLAMR professionals
  *   A chance to gain experience in event management and to show off your knowledge of Christchurch

 *Priority will be given, but not limited to, students and recent graduates of ASA/ARANZ & PARBICA accredited courses who are ASA/ARANZ & PARBICA members; or students and recent graduates who have submitted a proposal to speak at the conference. **Travel and accommodation cost for all applicants will not be covered.
