The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of efficient, effective, accessible, customer-focused library services that meet community needs.  Additionally, this position will focus on the planning, promotion, delivery and evaluation of programs and services for children and young people, including outreach activities and special events, nurturing a lifelong association with libraries and literacy for educational and recreational purposes.

The Library and Young People’s Services Officer will also be required to build effective working relationships with internal teams, external agencies, organisations and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  *   Relevant tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies or Education or Community Services and/or a minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  *   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  *   Excellent customer service skills.
  *   Well-developed time-management and organisational skills.
  *   Comprehensive computer and administrative skills with the capacity to adapt to new technologies and software.
  *   Demonstrated ability in the planning, promotion and delivery of high quality, creative and innovative children and youth services programs and events.
  *   Flexibility to work rostered hours according to operational requirements, including some weekend work.
  *   Current Western Australian Driver’s Licence
  *   Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance
  *   Valid Working with Children Check

This permanent position is a level 3a which attracts a salary of $70,527.91 inclusive of salary, superannuation, housing, and district allowances (if eligible).
