The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. We are currently seeking a Library Officer to join our pool of casuals in providing relief across our library network. The successful candidate will possess high attention to detail, a strong customer service ethic and a 'can do' attitude. In this casual relief role, you will provide back up to our teams as required and you may work at any of our libraries at Capel, Boyanup and Dalyellup from Monday through Saturday.
Duties include:
* Assisting with customer requests, handling bookings and queries for Community Centres (Dalyellup and Boyanup) and promoting the Shire and community programs
* Processing library items, maintaining records, preparing requested items, shelving and visual merchandising
* Supporting the Library team through positive team participation; working in other areas and across locations to assist with workload/backup

* $25.2868 per hour with a 25% casual loading ($31.6085 per hour), and Saturday penalty rates

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:
* Behaviour aligning to the Shire's HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
* Previous Library and/or Customer Service experience
* Strong computer skills and keyboard ability
* Availability and flexibility to undertake shifts throughout the week (8.45am to 5.15pm) and Saturday (8.45am to 12.15pm)
You must hold a current C class driver's licence. Knowledge of Local Government and experience in the South West Library Consortia, SirsiDynix Symphony and study towards Librarianship will be highly regarded. If successful, you must be willing to complete a Working with Children check.
