Engagement Officer – Hillview
The City of Canning aims to be a welcoming and thriving city, giving our people an opportunity to thrive through work that truly makes a difference! We are a seeking an Engagement Officer to join us on a permanent part-time basis at the Hillview Intercultural Community Centre (the Centre).
Impact the Community in a Big Way!
This role supports the Leader of the Centre to ensure smooth and efficient operations, develop relationships with community groups from diverse cultural backgrounds and implement processes that support the provision of customer focused, innovative and effective services. In this role, you will perform duties such as:
* Deliver welcoming customer service, reception, managing online bookings and assisting in programming a calendar of City and community led programs and events.
* Work with the Community Learning team to facilitate community user access to learning resources and services (i.e. Library membership and public access computers) and proactively connect community groups to City support services.
* Supervise volunteers to support volunteer led programs for community members and coordinating service units to facilitate maintenance of the facility.
* Work with the City’s Stakeholder Relations team to develop marketing and promotional materials and maintaining the webpage of the Centre.
Flexibility is required to suit opening hours and programming of events, which includes Thursday evenings and occasional weekends. * $65,330.42 - $75,271.85 per annum pro rata + super
You will have a tertiary qualification in Community Services, Community Development or similar, a current first aid certificate and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a customer facing community service role. Excellent customer service skills the proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds is essential. The right candidate will have experience planning and delivering community events and programs and digital fluency, including experience managing web and social media communication. You will also be able to provide a current (under six months) satisfactory National Police Clearance.
