Thu Mar 18 09:12:34 AWST 2021

Good morning

Please see below for CAVAL's Professional Development Interest Group events. These events are generally limited to CAVAL member libraries and staff, however, I have enquired and kindly been informed that due to the online nature of the events, the group has opened them up to all interested.

Take a look, sign up and get online! For those who don't know about CAVAL do some research: www.caval.edu.au<http://www.caval.edu.au/>

Kind regards
Bec

Time is quickly approaching for the first CAVAL event of the year, the first Professional Development Interest Group (PDIG) forum!

PDIG is running 3 free, virtual events across 7 days in the next few weeks. I have included details about each of the events below:

Event 1, Tuesday 23 March, 2-3pm AEDT: Jay Glaisyer, La Trobe University, will provide insight into the recruitment process of library staff and tell us about what it is like to recruit for an entire new team, while Adele Walsh, La Trobe University, will share practical tips on how to keep your resume up-to-date.

Event 2, Thursday 25 March, 11.00am-12.30pm: Amy Watson and John McCoy from LinkedIn Learning will look at how to build an online presence/network and how you can use LinkedIn as a tool when doing so.

Event 3, Tuesday 30 March, 12.30-1.30pm AEDT: Marion Slawson, Federation University, will lead a panel discussion on cross-sector permeability. Throughout the discussion Dr Craig Anderson, Deakin University, Michelle De Aizpurua, East Doncaster Secondary College, Robyn Ellard, Yarra Plenty Regional Libraries, and Dr Sarah Jansen, University of Newcastle, will speak about how they have moved between areas of the library and information sector.

By clicking on the flyer below you will be taken to the CAVAL webpage with registration information for all three events. If it doesn't work, the link is also here: http://members.caval.edu.au/pdig-events
