Dear LIS education colleagues,



I thought your students might be interested in an event that we are currently planning for Library and Information Week. Monday 17 May will be Careers Day, and we will be presenting a one-hour online session at 1pm AEST called ‘Employer Pitch’, where employers who are currently advertising library and information sector jobs will be given three minutes to pitch their job to a live audience of jobseekers. It will be a valuable opportunity for LIS students to attend, and get a sense of the range of jobs that are out there and the kinds of candidates that employers are looking for.



The session will be recorded, so those who can’t attend at the time can watch the video afterwards. Registration is free, but required in order to receive the Zoom link to attend: https://membership.alia.org.au/events/event/careers-day-employer-pitch
