Youth Services Librarian

The City of South Perth (the City) is seeking applications from candidates to undertake the position of Youth Services Librarian to join the Library Business Unit.

The City's talented workforce prides itself on delivering excellent service to the community, and is a unique and vibrant Western Australian municipality. Located only 4kms from the Perth CBD, the City borders the stunning Swan River on its Northern and Western boundaries, and boasts excellent access to important social, commercial and leisure infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing activities and strategies to promote the library service as a cultural and educational centre for the South Perth community. This position will contribute to the provision of an innovative and diverse library programme and service that meets the needs of the children/youth of the library service.

To be successful in this position you need to demonstrate;

*         Ability to plan, coordinate  and deliver library services/programmes/events focusing on children and young adults

*         High level of, and commitment to, customer service

*         Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

*         Well-developed organisational and time management skills

*         Strong understanding of technology and software and its application in programme and service delivery

*         Well-developed reference and information seeking skills

*         Eligibility for Associate Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association

*         Current 'C' class driver's license

*         Valid Working with Children Check

This permanent full time position is a level 6 which attracts a salary range of $75,860 - $88,474.38 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
