The Directorate of Publishing, Library and Information Services (DPLIS) is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals who are keen to contribute to the development of a National Library and Information Service. DPLIS has Libraries in the following locations:
*         HMAS Stirling, Rockingham, WA, 6166
*         Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera, Brisbane, QLD, 4051
*         Canberra, ACT, 2600
*         Holsworthy Barracks, Holsworthy, Sydney, NSW 2173
*         RAAF Base Wagga, Wagga Wagga, NSW, 2650
*         Melbourne, VIC, location to be confirmed

The DPLIS is currently transitioning to a nationally consistent service delivery model for library and information services that places an increased emphasis on digital delivery of services and resources.

You will have excellent research, communication and interpersonal skills as well as demonstrated ability to scope, identify, analyse, and test electronic resources to ascertain their suitability for use by the Department. You will be adaptable and willing to work as part of a nationally distributed team, work with remote customer groups, and travel between Defence sites.

General responsibilities include undertaking research, customer service, delivering customer education and training sessions, as well as being responsible for collection management, general circulation duties, document delivery, serial and lending services.

This position will suit self-motivated individuals who enjoy working within a team environment locally, and more broadly as a member of a national team undertaking a variety of library management related tasks, and enjoy engaging with clients and other stakeholders. This position will report to a Library Service Manager.

Location

The location of this vacancy is HMAS Stirling, Perth, WA. There is a requirement to travel to, and work from, different Defence sites across the Perth area.
