Curtin Information Studies Club (CURTIS) is a Curtin University student club for Information Studies students. Membership is free and open to anyone. You can join via our website at any time: https://curtininformationstudies.wordpress.com/membership/

Membership gives you access to our Study Groups and other events, as well as the opportunity to join our member-exclusive Facebook group and Discord server where we share information relevant to our studies and careers.

Our Study Groups and other events will help you to build friendships and a community while studying online. Our events are held simultaneously online (using Discord) and in-person at the Curtin Perth campus, so everyone can participate. They’re a great opportunity to discuss your studies in a safe, supportive environment. Clubs are a great way to meet people who share common interests and regularly meet together.

In addition, CURTIS is currently working with the Australian Library and Information Association New Generation Advisory Committee (ALIA NGAC) to collect responses to the changes announced in December 2019 regarding the Information Studies course at Curtin University. Responses submitted before 3 August 2020 may be used in a report submitted to ALIA by ALIA NGAC, while all responses may be used by CURTIS to provide feedback to university leaders and as part of a potential article by Grok Magazine, the Curtin Student Guild publication for non-fiction. The deadline for responses is 31 August 2020. We would greatly appreciate responses from Curtin staff and for you to please share this information with your students and networks.
