Branch Librarian - Kalamunda Library
The City of Kalamunda is a local authority with a population of 60,000 located approximately a 35 minute drive from the Perth CBD.  It provides the opportunity to work in a diverse environment from rural, natural bushland, a village atmosphere to highly developed residential, commercial and industrial areas.
About this Opportunity
An opportunity exists for a qualified Librarian with a sound knowledge of Public Library operations and demonstrated skills in customer service to lead the Kalamunda Library team as Branch Librarian.
This full-time position requires highly developed communication skills, experience in the supervision of staff and a commitment to the provision of high quality services to customers in accordance with Council's Strategic Plan, Corporate Business Plan, Business Unit plan and budget provisions.
To be successful in this position you will require:

  *   Proven ability to proactively lead and motivate a high performance Library branch team in the delivery of contemporary Library services, resources and programmes that meet the changing needs of the community.
  *   In depth knowledge of Library services and operations.
  *   Highly developed negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to liase effectively with a diverse range of customers.
  *   Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with team members, internal and external customers.
  *   Proficient in the use of Library Management Systems and technology
  *   Experience in section budget management and monitoring
The following qualifications are required for this position:

  *   Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Library /or Information Management with a minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
  *   Eligibility for professional membership to the Australian Library and Information Association.
  *   Current National Working with Children Check
  *   Current National Police Clearance or the ability to obtain within 2 months of employment
  *   Possession of a current, valid 'C-A' or 'C-B' class drivers licence
About the benefits
This is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday, offering a salary of Level 6 at $75,529 - $81,230 per annum plus 9.5% Superannuation. We offer incremental salary and EBA increases, 22 days of annual leave with 17.5% loading and the opportunity to work on a rostered day off system depending on business needs.
