$77,222.08 pro rata per annum (including Port Hedland Allowance)

  *   Engage with young children through story-telling, advice and direction
  *   Work collaboratively as part of a team with other library staff
  *   Plan, promote and be actively engaged in the implementation of story time, rhyme time, crafts, book clubs, outreach and holiday and school events for children and families

Inspire and engage with a focus to implement Children’s programs across the library.

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and team-oriented person to join our Library team. The primary responsibility of the Library Officer is to provide an effective and professional library and information service to the community of Port Hedland with a particular focus on services for children and youth that foster reading and family literacy.

To succeed in this role you will need to be engaging, enthusiastic and personable. You will be professional, an excellent communicator and a collaborative team member.  This is a wonderful opportunity to provide excellent customer service. You will need to enjoy promoting our library service, fostering and nurturing curiosity and supporting educational programs for the children and their families.  This role is both rewarding and fulfilling.

If you are passionate about books and engaging children in educational library programs, are well organised, have a high level of interpersonal and customer service skills we would like to hear from you.

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  *   Current ‘C’ class drivers licence
  *   Working with Children Card
  *   National Police Clearance
  *   Workplace First Aid certificate
