The project is funded, and I would like to employ the services of an archivist.

The museum has
recently received an accession of 6 boxes of assorted
material from a major figure in the field of aviation safety. The boxes consist largely of publications and unprovenanced historical
records, newspaper articles and photographs, but also contain
other items such as unpublished manuscript chapters and the odd item of
correspondence. The museum volunteers are happy to assist with identification where they can.
Both I and the museum would be delighted to have the accession properly
sorted and catalogued, then summarised via a finding aid. They already
have a records database system in place; although I don't know which one, I can readily check. I've taken photos of the boxes and could send them on
to provide an idea of the type and extent of this material.

The timeline is pretty flexible but the work
would ideally be done sometime between now and the end of February. My estimate is that the work would take about 1 week. My budget also includes the purchase of archival-quality storage materials (boxes, folders and sleeves).

I can provide more detail, but first I would welcome approaches by any archivists interested in this project, especially with any experience in technology/aviation.
