<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-US><FONT color=#000000>Our speakers, <B>Roxanne Missingham</B> from the Federal Parliamentary Library in Canberra and our very own <B>Kerry Smith</B>, from the Department of Information Studies at Curtin University, are both key people in Australian librarianship.</FONT></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt" lang=EN-US><FONT color=#000000>And as a one-off treat, the abbot has invited us through the monastery gates into the cloister to visit four special rooms which are normally not open to public gaze. We will visit the baroque- style library, the wood-panelled refectory, the frescoed chapter room and the monks’ reference library.</FONT></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal><FONT color=#000000><SPAN lang=EN-US>Roxanne’s lecture topic is </SPAN><B>How many roads must a library walk down? </B>The lecture will cover the “roads” we have pursued to create access, the messages which can and could be sent through signposts along the way, some insights into analysis of user behaviour on the Parliament of Australia’s website and comments on the benefits of moving from information martyrs to natives. </FONT></P>
