Music Librarian<BR>

The Australian Institute of Music (AIM) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the position of Music Librarian. The Music Librarian is part of AIM¹s team of professionals charged with developing and producing learning materials incorporating traditional and new technologies.<BR>
<BR>
The successful candidate must possess the following:<BR>

Essential<BR>

* ALIA recognised library qualifications<BR>
<BR>
* Digital Circulation and Acquisition Database experience (Liberty 3)<BR>
<BR>
* Experience with external digital database management<BR>
<BR>
* Information desk experience using electronic and online resources<BR>
<BR>
* Formal music qualifications or equivalent<BR>
<BR>
* Competent IT hardware and software skills (MS Office)<BR>
<BR>
* Ability to work independently.<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
Desirable<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
* Knowledge of the music industry and music education<BR>
<BR>
* Ability to work on dual platform (PC and Mac) environments<BR>
<BR>
* experience in promotional activities and delivering a library service to diverse customers.<BR>

Accountability and Objectives<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
* Compile and maintain accurate library acquisition records;<BR>
<BR>
* Administer the LIBERTY 3 circulation system;<BR>
<BR>
* Supervise maintenance of duplication and IT hardware for library;<BR>
<BR>
* Supervise and maintain a database of external digital subscriptions<BR>
<BR>
* Catalogue resources;<BR>
<BR>
* Provide expert advice to staff and students on music research resources;<BR>
<BR>
* Create and maintain a productive working environment for library patrons.<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
<BR>
Salary will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications.<BR>
