Kay Poustie Scholarship - 2018 Bursaries
Applications are now being received!

In 2018, the Kay Poustie Scholarship will provide five separate $1,000 bursaries for public library professionals to attend one of two significant conferences being held in the Indian Pacific region. The bursaries will provide a unique opportunity for public library professionals from Western Australia  to meet, learn from and network with colleagues and suppliers from Australia, the region and internationally.

Applicants must be qualified librarians or library technicians working in the public library network in Western Australia and must nominate to attend one of the following conferences;

*         Asia Pacific Library Conference (https://aplic.alia.org.au/) will be held on the Gold Coast, Australia 30 July-2 August 2018.
or
*         World Library and Information Congress (https://2018.ifla.org/) will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 24-30 August 2018.

Applications close 5:00pm Friday 6 April 2018

The Kay Poustie Scholarship is a partnership between the State Library of Western Australia and Public Libraries WA (Inc).




2018 Library Board of Western Australia Award for Innovation and Excellence
Nominations are now being received!

Nominations for the Library Board of Western Australia Award for Innovation and Excellence are now open.

The Award for Innovation and Excellence is intended to recognise a particular service, event, program, piece of research, or partnership completed in 2017 by any person, library or organisation in Western Australia.

The Award is a valuable opportunity for library practitioners to receive recognition for their achievements in the field of library practice.  The winner will be announced in May during Library and Information Week 2018 at an event at the State Library of Western Australia.

Prize money of $5,000 is awarded.

Nominations close 5:00pm Friday 6 April 2018
