Hi,

I heartily recommend this hands-on workshop on digital storytelling in the Curtin Library Makerspace, 19 July. Please see below for free registration.

If you want to improve your skills with technology in a fun way, and learn a lot about engagement with library clients, then this is a few hours that will have a large return. Workshops like this that accompany industry conferences generally cost around the $250 mark, so please take advantage of this if you can.

The poster was too large to circulate on this email list, but you can see it in the booking link.

Subject: Digital Storytelling Workshop July 19

Hi all

The Curtin Library Makerspace is running a Digital Storytelling workshop on Wednesday 19th July, 10 am – 3pm. Although it is being held over the break, we are hoping some students and staff will be able to come along. It’s also open to members of the general community.

The aim of the workshop is to create a story using digital technologies (such as Unity, Twine, Inkle, 360Fly, Tiltbrish, Panatour and Makey Makeys). We will be looking at the basics in design and storytelling theory, and exploring practical methods for telling a story. Rebecca Kerr and myself are facilitating the workshop.

The poster for the event is attached.

Registration is through Eventbrite bit.ly/cmdigistory<applewebdata://C41AFF82-94F2-405C-A0FE-B5E6A5818611/bit.ly/cmdigistory>

We would appreciate it if you could forward the information about the workshop to any students or staff you think may be interested in joining us, and of course come along yourself if you are free!

Thanks, and best regards

Karen
