LIBRARY & HERITAGE OFFICER – LIFESTYLE & LEARNING
Part Time – minimum 48hrs fortnight
$60,623 - $64,701 pro rata pa

The City has commenced planning for our brand-new library and with this comes an opportunity for a dynamic and innovative individual who is passionate about delivering efficient and effective Library and Heritage services to the local community, with a particular focus on the provision of educational programmes.

Under the direction of the Specialist Librarian – Projects you will assist with the planning, development and delivery of Library & Heritage youth and adult activities and educational programmes including outreach programmes and incursions and early childhood literacy programmes, as required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·         Assisting with sourcing and booking potential storytellers, performers and artists to deliver events and activities

·         Assisting with reviewing library and museum events and activities

·         Liaising with local educational organisations and parents

·         Assisting with promoting the use of collections and activities of the library and museum

·         Attending to public enquiries, including counter duties

·         Cataloguing, checking, processing and repair of stock

To be successful in this role you must have previous experience delivering educational programmes and activities to all age groups.  Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and groups and proven organisational skills are also required.

Hours of work will be Monday and Tuesday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Wednesday 12pm – 8:30pm and every 4th Saturday with the remaining days and hours negotiated with the successful candidate.
