The Position

The role of Communication and Information staff in CSIRO is to support the delivery of science through the provision of effective communication and management of information.
CSIRO Information Services provides a range of services to assist research staff to manage research outputs.  This encompasses management of research data, covering images and software, support services for sharing information assets, and the management of research outputs through the institutional repository.  In this role you will be responsible for supporting the description, storage and sharing of research metadata, datasets and software.

Specifically you will:
*         Support researchers in using the Data Access Portal (DAP).
*         Analyse information requirements of researchers relating to research data management and prepare documentation of system specifications to meet these needs.
*         Liaise extensively with research and information services staff to identify data for inclusion in the DAP.
*         Prepare and maintain user guides and other training materials in a variety of formats supporting data management.
*         Assist with the development and testing of the DAP.

Location:      Negotiable - Perth,  North Ryde, Adelaide, Clayton, Brisbane, Newcastle or Canberra
Salary:          $78K - $88K plus up to 15.4% superannuation
Tenure:         Indefinite

To be successful you will need:
*         A relevant tertiary qualification in librarianship, information management or related discipline, which qualifies for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
*         Experience supporting the data management requirements of researchers and a sound understanding of information management throughout the research lifecycle.
*         Experience in information management or content management, with knowledge of current technologies and standards such as institutional repositories, encoding standards (e.g. XML) and metadata.
*         Experience in developing and delivering training and support materials and services.
*         The ability to work effectively in a team environment, proactively collaborating and consulting with internal and external stakeholders, as well as sharing resources to accomplish objectives.
