This is an insanely useful free opportunity that I would encourage all students, who are able to, to attend.
Free tickets to the final plenary session at the VALA2018 conference with Deb Verhoven on Thursday 15th February in Melbourne at the Conference Centre .
It is not only a chance to see and hear a very interesting and useful presentation (she does some very cool things with cultural data like looking at who works with whom (by gender) in the Australian film industry)....but a chance to be in the same venue as the people who will be hiring you in the future... so getting your face seen and a possible chance to mingle with more senior professionals than you are likely to be in the same room as in any other way...
I will be there, so would be happy to arrange for a meetup of Curtin and OUA students in our courses during the afternoon tea break before this event if people wanted to do this (or to go out for a meal or brekky if enough people were interested)... just let me know...
