This is an event well worth putting a 'save the date' in the calendar for! Some great names in that list of speakers too.

I have attended a number of times over the years and always come away:

?  Inspired from having learnt so much

?  full from the delicious food

?  buoyant from the great conversations with the monks that attend

?  in awe of the monastery and surrounding buildings, as there is usually a special tour

?  refreshed from time out of town

?  feeling upbeat from time spent with reconnecting and making new connections with like-minded professionals

?  AND holding on tight to purchases of bread and wine from the New Norcia shop

A quick email to let you know:

*         date for the 2017 Library Lecture: Friday, 06 October

I am pleased to advise you that the attendance cost at the professional development day will remain the same as last year:

               $80.00 per person employed
               $40.00 per student/concession card holder

This year's programme will include guest speakers:

*         Toni Young, Team Leader, Stock & Stack, State Library W.A.

and Cristina Albillos, Senior Conservator, State Library W.A.

o   Looking after our State Library's treasures

*         Dr Bob Pymm, Adjunct senior lecturer, Charles Sturt University

o   Home movies, video and digital : primary resources for any local studies collection

*         Joanna Sassoon, Historian & Archivist

o   Chasing shadows, finding skeletons. Tracking the archives of the photographer, E.L. Mitchell

*         Ginetta Evans, Librarian

o   The new Greenmount Library : the thirty-year promise

*         Karen Dennison, Library Manager

and Laurel Tate, Volunteer Local History Librarian

o    Community and cataloguing at the Capel Local History Collection
