Tenure: Permanent part time, $77,672.92 - $84,745.96 per annum, plus super (pro rata)

The City of Kingston is offering a unique work life balance opportunity for a permanent part-time specialist role (24 hours per week).  Working arrangements are flexible for the right candidate.

Kingston is a dynamic inner city council, located 27kms from the Melbourne CBD in the south east suburbs.  Council is seeking an experienced Freedom of Information and Privacy Officer to be a member of its proactive Corporate Information Team.  The successful candidate will be passionate with respect to the role and competent in handling a diverse range of Freedom of Information (FOI) and Privacy related requests and enquiries.

The successful candidate will draw on their specialist knowledge and proven experience to communicate with FOI applicants and guide them through the process, conduct searches, consult with third parties, liaise with relevant Kingston employees and prepare decision letters and other correspondence in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982.  Furthermore, the candidate is required to respond to Privacy related requests in accordance with legislation.  You will assess Privacy complaints while providing advice and training to council employees to ensure personal and health information is protected at all times.  Some on the job training will be provided.

The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, have an exceptional attention to detail and be able to work well under pressure.  The candidate must also have a strong work ethic, be organised while meeting statutory timeframes and demonstrate a positive attitude towards their work and other colleagues.
