[Hum-DIS] Practicum placement opportunities

Dear students

If you are interested in the following prac locations - and for date ranges stated - please contact me ASAP.

La Trobe University Melbourne (Bundoora)
Third year undergrad, grad dip ILS, MIM

Students will have a 3 week program, which incorporates experience in each of the teams across the Library, a possible visit to another campus library in Victoria and work on a pre-defined project. The project will be related to an area of the Library's Business Plan relevant at the time of the placement.

The periods within which we are able to accept placement students this year are:
May 1st - July 7th, 2017
September 4th - November 17th

First year, third year undergrad, grad dip ILS, MIM

Applications are due in by 3 March 2017 for semester 1 placements, in previous years June/July placements have been requested, depending on exams etc, this time frame has been accommodated. The form you will need to fill out can be found here: http://www.slq.qld.gov.au/about-us/corporate/jobs/fieldwork-placement-program . As prac coordinator I submit requests on behalf of students.

The general call for prac applications will go out once the academic year is underway with a due date of Monday 27 March, 2017. Please see the link in the signature block to documentation - this documentation is currently being updated and should be available next week. Only minor changes will be made so you are most welcome to read the prac manual as it should answer any questions you may have.
