About the opportunity
The University of Sydney Library is focused on delivering high quality, client-centred services, information resources, and learning spaces to support world-class research and research-informed teaching.

Our Academic Services division is currently seeking four outstanding recent graduates from diverse disciplines to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative support services for academics, researchers, students and other relevant areas of the University. These important roles help ensure our programs are aligned to emerging trends and practices that meet the current and future scholarly information needs of our clients, while also supporting the strategic direction of the University.

While primarily working closely with our Academic Liaison Librarians, the successful candidates will have the opportunity to spend time across multiple areas of the Library, giving you valuable exposure to the functional operation of one of Australia’s largest university libraries. You will also identify and propose a major project that you will lead and deliver, giving you practical skills and experience to progress your career.

About you
The University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values.

To be eligible for this role, you will have successfully completed a relevant degree within the last 12 months (or will be completing it by 31 December 2017). We are accepting graduates from a diverse range of disciplines.

To succeed in this role, you will be able to build and maintain effective working relationships to ensure client needs are met. You will enjoy working collaboratively, assisting your colleagues when required, and contributing to the development of team goals. You will understand the principles of teaching and learning and apply them to the design, delivery and evaluation of face to face and online information skills programs. You will use technology creatively to improve and introduce innovations to existing services and work practices. With a sound comprehension of the higher education and research sector, you will understand the research process and be able to empathise with those engaged in research. You will be a whizz at searching research databases and other online sources, and have no problem managing resources and facilities.

These roles have wide scope for independent and innovative thinking. We very much look forward to receiving your application.

To be considered for this position it is essential that you address the online selection criteria. For guidance on how to apply visit: How to apply for an advertised position.
