COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
$64,936 - $68,881 pa

Due to an internal promotion the Ruth Faulkner Public Library has an exciting opportunity available for someone seeking to further their career within a diverse and developing community that offers a wide range of library and heritage services, resources and programmes.

This full time position provides assistance to the Specialist Librarian - Collection Management to maintain a relevant resource collection that meets the needs and interests of the community.

Duties include:

*         Undertaking cataloguing and processing of local stock.

*         Assessing donated stock, processing & cataloguing materials in line with collection development guidelines and to required standards.

*         Under the direction of the Specialist Librarian, removing unwanted materials regularly to ensure the Library maintains a relevant collection.

*         Assisting with the promotion and display of the library's collections.

*         Providing backup and support for the Team Leaders during busy periods and leave.

To be successful in this role you require experience working within a library along with an understanding of current standards in cataloguing procedures and the ability to undertake basic cataloguing.  You will be organised, have good interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups.
