RIMPA are currently seeking 40 minute presentations and 80 minute workshops for inForum 2017 in line with the chosen streams.

Stream 2 : Business Buy In "How do I get management to support RIM?"
Stream 3 : RIM 101 "Have we got the basics right?"
Stream 4 : About Me "How can I improve my skills?"

Member Resource Library

RIMPA Chairman Lisa Read White FRIM in her closing address at InForum 2016 in Perth challenged and asked delegates to get involved with the Association. Over the next 12 months each member of RIMPA is encouraged to contribute to the RIMPA Community Resource Library. Lisa announced that contributions to the library will be rewarded with a $50 RIMPA event voucher and 5 CPD points in the first instance, and then 2 CPD points for each additional contribution.

If you have a template, policy, procedure, business plan or documentation that you are happy to share with your peers on the members only area of the RIMPA website please email Jennifer Curley at vicechair at rimpa.com.au<mailto:vicechair at rimpa.com.au> with an editable copy. There will be an approval process followed, which will include de-identifying the material, to ensure a quality standard for published documents.

Your published contribution will be credited to you and naming conventions will ensure a regional jurisdiction is listed for easy reference to relevant Acts. And a big congratulations to Kelli Chatfield from West Wimmera Shire Council on her contribution.

Making Room for What's Important
Another Keep or Toss Life Story

As a child, I remember I always liked my toys, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I played with them, slept with them, always took some with me when going to visit friends, left them on the floor, on and under the bed, or all over the apartment!...They were all mine and I wanted to keep them all!...remember!? When the adolescence years came, they brought with them the accumulation of new stuff...adventure books at first, later on beer and cigarettes "borrowed" from my dad and enjoyed with friends...then my first Walkman cassette player which I knew I'd never let go of!! (..or so I thought...); I took good care of it, making sure it was always in my sight, sitting safe on a shelf above the box of toys I used to have...own...play with (I don't know who, but someone tossed them all in one big box). I know it might sound sad being a teenager and having beer and cigarettes and still owning that box of toys, but that's how it was growing up in an apartment block somewhere in Eastern Europe....nothing gets thrown out, just passed on.

Chris Simpson Awards 2016

The Qld Local Government & Corporations Chapter (QLGCC) Chris Simpson Awards recognise excellence through the practical application of Innovation & Marketing, Partnership & Teamwork and Mentoring. Named after one of the Chapter's founders, the Chris Simpson Awards for excellence in records and information management are presented annually. The awards also honour Chris' 30 years of commitment and support to RIM PA. Chris is a Life member of RIM PA and the recipient of the inaugural Industry Contribution Award for Leadership/Mentoring. The Chris Simpson Awards culminate in the recognition and celebration of individuals and groups that implement initiatives and industry leading services on a prominent scale. This year the Chris Simpson awards were proudly sponsored by Redman Solutions. The judging panel consisted of Chris Simpson, Petá Sweeney (Qld Branch President) and Kurtis Redman (sponsor representative). The Award judges were very impressed with the quality of the multiple of nominations received in each of the three categories.
