SPECIALIST LIBRARIAN - PROJECTS

$69,051 - $72,895 pa



We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to embark on our journey as we commence planning for the City's brand new library.  As the Specialist Librarian - Projects you will play an important part in the development of new spaces and programs within the building.



In consultation with the Coordinator Library & Heritage Services you will develop, implement and review programmes, services, displays and promotional activities whilst assisting to provide an efficient and effective library and information service to the Community.



Other duties include:

·         Providing specialist advice to stakeholders on youth library services.

·         Developing and maintaining a calendar of planned programmes and providing regular reports on the status of program delivery.

·         Coordinating and actively participating in the delivery of programmes and special events.

·         Overseeing the marketing and promotion of library services through developing and implementing appropriate promotional materials and publications.



The successful applicant will have:

·         Possession of, or progress towards, a formal qualification in Library Studies or a recognised equivalent, or equivalent relevant experience.

·         Previous relevant experience working in a library and in particular in the provision of services to young people.

·         A demonstrated understanding of the operations and requirements of the State Library of Western Australia (SLWA).
