LIBRARY & HERITAGE ASSISTANT

Casuals - flexible hours

$32.92 - $39.89 per hour

These roles offer shift-flexibility in a cohesive, team-oriented environment.  Situated in the heart of the City of Belmont and close to local shops and amenities, the Ruth Faulkner Library provides a wide range of library and heritage services and programmes for our diverse and developing community.  We are looking for team players to be part of our customer-focussed and enthusiastic library and heritage team.



Duties include:

·         Counter duties such as borrower enrolments, issues, returns and reservations of library material.

·         Attending to public enquiries.

·         Shelving and display of library materials.

·         Assisting with processing and repairs of stock.

·         Assisting with various activities arranged and organised within the library.

·         Undertaking basic cataloguing and processing of local stock.

·         Use of the Library Management system, interlibrary loans and reservation modules.



To be successful in this role you will need good interpersonal skills and have a proven ability to communicate with a wide range of people and groups.  A keen eye for detail and proven organisational skills will also be highly valued.



Casual hours of work are generally between 8:00am and 8:30pm, Monday to Thursday, 8:00am and 5:00pm on Friday's and 8:30am and 12:30pm on Saturday's, as required. Hourly rate of pay incorporates the appropriate casual loading and as such, leave provisions under the Award does not apply.
